What I always say to someone who is in doubt is to give us the most information possible so we can look at your file in detail, and then also have a plan B (like you have already) in case you are not admitted. As for your information, a 3.8 GPA is when you have 4 A's for every B grade, so you would want to look at your transcript to make sure of your overall grades (UGA does not look at a GPA on a transcript, just grades). I could not guess about the SAT, as we look at the subscores separately, not as one lump score. It does look like you are active, so make sure we know what you are involved in and some details about each (tell us more about what it takes to run the school website for instance).

Anon II: First, I am somewhat glad I am not your cousin. That was somewhat of a harsh remark, and I would suggest taking a second look at her and what she is like in the classroom. As for in-state/out-of-state, we treat all applicants the same, so you are dealing with an urban legend (and the opposite where it is easier for in-state is also a well traveled urban legend).DGraveshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07898528441077213024noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1610885684347083635.post-26169340317663146822010-12-29T00:39:25.681-05:002010-12-29T00:39:25.681-05:00My cousin from Florida just got in and she's n...My cousin from Florida just got in and she's not that smart. Our other requirement is that a student must have one full year of college after high school graduation before enrolling. So if the above scenario is correct, then a student could apply for the summer or fall term of the following year and be considered for admission, as they would have 30 hours and they would start after a year in college (as generally they would continue with Spring courses). The 30+ hours still must be complete by the deadline for each specific term though.

We have this requirement in place in part to re-enforce the situation that students with 30+ hours of dual enrollment work before the end of their senior year in HS still need to apply as freshman, as they have not attended a college after high school (GA Tech has a similar policy). We also want to make sure that students are ready for the challenge of UGA coursework, and having that year and 30+ hours gives us a good indication.DGraveshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07898528441077213024noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1610885684347083635.post-13963511012164225272010-09-14T12:39:49.877-04:002010-09-14T12:39:49.877-04:00Hi.
