A Small Wave of February Freshman Admission

We have just offered admission to a small wave of freshman applicants. These few Regular Decision applicants met the stringent academic criteria of Early Action admission that we had used with our much larger wave of December admission. Do not panic if you were not admitted with this February ripple.  We are still very much in the midst of carefully reviewing documents and data on a great many more files, and there are still lots of decisions to make.  The final wave of Summer and Fall freshman application decisions will be made by the end of March, so thank you for your patience as we finish over the next month.

Transfer Update

Earlier this week we started reviewing summer transfer applications.  The deadline for summer has not passed and we are still receiving applications, so we cannot say how long it will take us to finish.  We will not start reviewing fall transfers until we have finished with summer.  If you applied early for summer or fall, please be sure to check your myStatus to see if we have your most up-to-date transcript(s).  If you were enrolled in coursework last fall and have not sent a transcript with your fall grades, you should have one sent as soon as possible.  To be complete and ready to review, we must have a transcript from each college/university you have previously attended.  If we see that you were enrolled in courses last fall and we do not have a transcript with those grades, you are not complete and this will delay a review of your application.  If you are applying from one of the University System of Georgia colleges that will be merging, do not worry about using a different school code when listing colleges on your application at this time.  Through July 1 schools will remain the same in our system.  We will post more updates about summer/fall transfers as soon as we are able to.

February First Year Update

Very soon we are going to stop accepting material for First Year applicants.  This means if you are missing something, you need to have it sent to us as soon as possible!  If you have had something sent more than two weeks ago (First Year applicants only) and it is not showing in your myStatus, have it resent.

We recommend having material sent electronically because this is the fastest way it will get to us.  If your counselor/teacher believes an online form has been sent, encourage that person to log back in to the online form to be sure that it went through.  There are mandatory fields on our online forms that must be completed or the recommendation/evaluation will not be submitted.  We can also accept material from the high school as an attachment to an email sent to .

If you see that we do not have ACT or SAT scores for you, including the writing section, first check with College Board/ACT.  If they are showing that scores were sent, check your name, date of birth and social.  Our system will not automatically match scores to your file if any of these fields do not match what you listed on your application.  If you discover a discrepancy, contact us immediately so that we can manually find and match your scores.  If you have taken the January SAT and designated UGA as a school to receive your scores automatically, don't worry.  We will wait for the January SAT.

Remember, we want you to complete your file.  Log on to your myStatus and if you are missing something, you need to have that sent yesterday.  We cannot stress enough how important it is that you take care of missing material as soon as possible.  We cannot review an incomplete file, so make sure you are complete!
